Dad Is Fat
by Jim Gaffigan
Ok, I definitely laughed out loud a few times in this book. Jim Gaffigan is one of my favorite stand up comedians, and I'd been meaning to read this book since it first came out. I guess I never read what it was about, even though the cover should have been a hint. It's all about his kids and parenting. Which is somewhat entertaining because he makes great observations and pokes fun at himself and the troubles he goes through with five children in tow. But I wanted more from the book. After reading Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling, and Amy Poehler, I was expecting part comedy/part memoir. It was all comedy, and actually many of the jokes were originally featured in his feature length stand up routines. It was entertaining, but not the best!
