GIRL, daaamn.
When I went into this, was I expecting to give it 5 stars on both plot AND spice? No, no I was not. Why you might ask? Because I can’t stand Emily Rath. I’m sorry y’all, I just cannot. I don’t follow her on social because I need to have some degree of separation so she doesn’t end up give me a fucking rash. That being said, I’m also an adult with a fully developed frontal cortex, so I’m able to appreciate an individual’s work and talent without feeling the need to agree with their personal, political or societal beliefs - what a novel concept hey lol.

This fucking book. You guys… I died. I’m currently dead and writing to you from the fucking grave, because I OD’d on perfect smut. My headstone will read: “Here lies Jordan, adequate wife, crunchy mother and unhinged feral smut addict who died doing what she loved - reading reverse harem hockey p0rn” and this book will be resting in my arms to follow me to whatever smut filled heaven (hopefully) awaits me.
Everything about this book is perfection. (Ok, yea she uses the word ‘yeet’ a couple times, which is like woman wtf are you doing?! But that’s literally the only thing I can complain about, so I’m pretending it didn’t happen lol.) I haven’t had this much fun reading a book in a long fucking time. Possibly ever. I was HOWLING laughing. Actively shrieking out loud.
The writing in this is some of the best Rom Com I have ever read and probably will ever read. The guys were perfectly balanced with their personalities and individual arcs. And the spice, good lord. If I’m not pregnant right now it’ll be a fucking miracle lol.
I’m not going to give anything away - some of my favourite out of context highlights are on the next slides so do with that what you will - but I will give y’all the gist of the teaser in case you don’t already know…
We’ve got Rachel our FMC - I really liked her, she was a fucking firecracker who knew exactly what she wanted and just grabbed it by the balls and never let go lol. Then we have our guys… Jake, Caleb and Ilmari - I’m not even gunna tell you anything about them except that they were all perfect in their own ways. In the novella I wasn’t a huge fan of Jake or the whole Insta Love vibe they had going I initially thought I was a Caleb girl and now after having finished the book, I don’t actually know if I could choose one guy. So here I stand, doing my slow clap, because I’ve finally read a reverse harem where I couldn’t actually choose between the men and this has never happened before. So I think that right there is probably the standard that I will now hold all other RH’s to lol. Fuck my life, nothing will ever compare now.
Side note, yes you do need to start with This One Night (the prequel novella) don’t judge the entirety of this book solely on the novella.
So, if you haven’t read this book, go do it… RIGHT FUCKING NOW. And then be unhinged like me and immediately start Pucking Ever After because you have no chill lol.
