Henry IV, Part 1

Rating: 3.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
I enjoyed this much more than I expected.
The basic plot is a revolution in the Kingdom led by Henry Percy (surnamed Hotspur). The rebels are unhappy because they feel that Henry Bolingbroke (King Henry IV) has forgotten about all the help they had given Henry when he took the reign from King Richard II.
The characterization of The Prince of Wales (aka Prince Hal) was well done. He went from a carefree drut of a son to the King to completely redeeming himself in the Battle of Shrewsbury, which quashed Hotspur and the rebellion.
And, I must mention the comic relief of Sir John Falstaff. Falstaff (note the “Fals” base as in false) is a fat, drunken knight in Henry IV kingdom. Falstaff only looks out for himself and tries to steal credit from others. Falstaff is where we get ”The better part of valour is discretion” when he faked passing out during a fight.
