This got me out of the beginnings of a reading slump, and the writing in this book was riveting to the point of ignoring my other current reads just so I could finish it in 2 days. I can't speak on how well this book handles its racism-related topics (withcindy did I good video on it however), but I hope the topics in this book encourage readers to further educate themselves upon finishing it. I do think the pop culture references and how heavily the book is based on topics like Twitter discourse might make this book seem quite dated in a few years, so I'm curious about how it'll age in that area. But I'll definitely be reading more of Rebecca F. Kuang's works after this, and I'd easily recommend this book to fans of unreliable and morally corrupt narrators.
