this book was one that I couldn't decide whether I actually liked. I already said this to Katie, but it was way more self-help / new age-y than memoir to me, and while I found myself agreeing w a lot of her perspectives on how women are socialized in restrictive ways, none of it felt particularly groundbreaking. I did enjoy the big picture anecdote of her choosing her happiness and her now-wife over other internalized ideas and obligations, but that does not a whole book make! the rest felt like little epiphanies wrapped in the language of instagram captions. I don't think I'm the target demographic on this one.
