Charlie's story is devastating, she's gone through so much in her childhood that it's severely impaired her development. Her choices were aggravating sometimes, but I wouldn't blame her.

The beginning of the book was very Girl, Interrupted-esque. The rest of the book was good with a couple of semi-lovable characters. It also has a bunch of clichés, but they're not too bad. The only thing I had a major issue with is
Charlie (a minor) dating Riley (a FULL GROWN MAN), especially when they shared intimate moments.
. It was quite upsetting, so I'd just skim through those parts.

Overall, I'd say it's a decent book with a decent ending. It dealt with very heavy, realistic issues without romanticizing them in any way.
