hbreader 's review for:
Living Buddha, Living Christ
by Thích Nhất Hạnh
Living Buddha, Living Christ by Thich Nhat Hanh met my expectations. I wanted to read this book to further explore and understand how the tenets of Buddhism and Christianity might coexist and to discover similarities between the two. I found what I hoped for in this book - reassurance and an expanded worldview.
I chose to listen to the Audible Audio edition. The narrator, Ben Kingsley is a very formidable, accomplished actor. He did a fine job reading the material. However, I think that this is the rare case in which hearing the author's own delicate, ethereal vocal delivery might have been more impactful.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is at a place in their spiritual journey where they are seeking expansion, compassion, and reassurance. I would not recommend this to individuals who feel fearful and threatened by even the most mild attempt to expand their worldview, as many of the Goodreads reviewers (some of whom have not even bothered to read the book!) have shown themselves to be.
Note to Goodreads- you need to remove all "reviews" written by folks who did not read or listen to the actual work.
