Onyx Storm is probably my least favorite of the series so far, but only because it felt unnecessarily long at times - which was also an issue in Iron Flame. Because the world has been expanded so much, and so fast, I’ve had a hard time keeping all the information straight, whether that was who each God was and what Isle worshipped which or who’s dragon was bonded to whom and who had what signet(s) (although the infographic at the beginning helped for some people). I also had trouble remembering who some characters were at times when they hadn’t been mentioned often.
That being said, I still loved this book. I really enjoyed seeing so many characters grow and seeing the world expanded. My only regret is not waiting to read the series until the series was completed because that ending was just WOW.
