Definitely clear that this is one of the earlier books Jane wrote, but still so fun. Doesn’t move me the way p&p or Emma do, but obviously still love and enjoy it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but northanger abbey is underrated and is ripe for a remake and renaissance in modern time. It’s so funny and delusional. I feel like a modern tv or movie of it could make the gothic elements feel both real and crazy so you believe Catherine but also are like girl?? Kinda only murders vibes.
