A slow burn sort of thriller. Dark and twisty. This book gives one the heebeejes, but not in the jump scare kind of way that one is used to. All of the characters are flawed, and Flynn does a great job of blurring the lines between victim and perpetrator. I liked no one in this book, including the murdered children, so kudos to the author for making me hate dead kids. I kinda sorta figured out the ending, but was still impressed by the final twist. Happy I read it, but now I feel like I need to bathe in rubbing alcohol to get rid of these gross feelings.
