I have NEVER loved a book more. This book gave me all the feels. At times it was deeply painful and at others it was hilarious. The way that Brian intricately connects the stories and struggles of his life is simply masterful. I think it is a story that will resonate deeply and painfully with gay black men. Even more so, it’s a book for all of us - a manifesto to practice self-love and acceptance, and a charge to show up unapologetically as your true self.
