Permafrost by Eva Baltasar

4.0

I’m glad I gave Eva Baltasar’s work a second go because I enjoyed this one much more than Boulder (I read them out of order oops but it’s okay because they’re about different characters.) While, like Boulder, Permafrost focused on a cynical narrator and her intense sexual encounters, this one felt more thoughtful and sincere with the family elements, especially at the end. I was rooting for the main character and interested in what would happen to her.*

Baltasar’s writing is addictive and timeless and I’m curious to read the third book in this series since I had very different reactions to the first two.

*trigger warning tho because she is extremely suicidal throughout the entire book and it caught me off guard
