Take Me Apart
by Sara Sligar
I truly can’t believe this is a debut novel and was so sad when I realized there’s nothing else written by Sara to jump into.
This was so beautiful and sad and intense. I actually almost DNF’d during Miranda’s diary entires discussing her life post birth, not because I wasn’t enjoying the book, but because PPD is such a fear of mine and it was so difficult to read, but I’m so glad I didn’t stop.
The difficulties of creating art when suffering ends or changes is complicated, but life doesn’t end at trauma.
“Sometimes the only reason I want to live is that I still have so much art to make.”
