I don’t normally do audio books but living in New Zealand and trying to get hands on physical copies from independent authors can be difficult and really expensive. I have ordered all of Rob J Hayes war eternal series in hardback but saw his mortal techniques series on audible and jumped to get it. It took me a while to get use to listening as I am not use to audio books but this story was so entertaining. I loved all the characters and felt really invested in them, especially the ZhiHao who was my absolute favorite. Just a really entertaining and engaging story that had great twists at the end. I give 5 stars mainly for the pure enjoyment but also the narration was brilliant and I especially loved the way she voiced Ein which creeped me out each time he spoke and completely suited his character.
I did think I had the ending figured out but was blown away by how well constructed the last 15-20% of the book was and I did not see the main twist coming. I give 5 stars to a book that I have a really fun time reading and Never Die achieved this for me:
