A Presumption of Death by Jill Paton Walsh

3.0

Except for the murderings, this book felt like the reality of the Second World War's beginning. English countryside. Harriet is Harriet. Where is Peter? No one knows—secret spy stuff.

The British people organized themselves and started the "keep calm and carry on" war mentality even before the Blitz started. It was a quieting moment to realize, while reading, that they probably had no idea that they would be "carrying on" for 5 years.

Haha, and because I am so good at paying attention, I forgot about the original murder. A second crime popped up—I suppose this can be described as a plot twist. I am so bad at paying attention.

I want to read more about Land Girls.
