Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

4.25

Genuinely, I have no idea was Celeste Ng put in this book but it gets me every time. I love how every character is at least slightly unlikeable but at the same time you want to root for some. I love the themes of motherhood and family and the critique of performative activism and activism just to make someone feel better about themself.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the t.v. show and it kind of tainted my view of the book but now rereading it, it's still as good as when I first read it. (I will say it does take a bit to get into it, especially if you struggle with books with a cast of unlikeable characters).
