Before Green Gables
by Budge Wilson
I was somewhat skeptical picking up a book about characters I love by someone other than the original author. A couple of years ago I read Harriet Spies Again and despised it.
Before Green Gables on the other hand, was a lovely imagining of a treasured character. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and it carried much of L.M. Montgomery's tone and style, which made the believability of this being Anne Shirley's early years.
