Lark Ascending by Silas House
4.0

I have been avoiding post-apocalypse novels because they feel a little too... real, but this book was so very worth taking the plunge. House's prose is evocative and lyrical. I grieved with Lark throughout the story and feel a renewed sense of wonder at the beauty that is possible even during (perhaps in response to) the devastation humans wreak on each other and the world.

Also, Seamus. Oh, Seamus ❤️
