How Does It Feel? by Jeneane O'Riley
1.0
Absolutely awful. Horrendous. Poorly written slew of cliché tropes. There's not any review that I can find that warns readers of the explicit sexual assault. This trigger isn't listed in the trigger warnings, and what makes it so much worse is that the love interest is the one to encourage this rape and hire the person to willingly commit it to her. And then we're supposed to like him?! Mendax is vile. I will NOT read book two. I do not recommend this to anyone, and anyone who loves this book is a red flag.
And to those comparing this to acotar; this book holds no similarities besides having fairies. Do not ever compare these two like that again.
There's mention of this big plot twist, and honestly, it fell flat. The author failed to build up to it throughout the story, so when the reveal came, it didn't elicit any emotions. It was disappointing. She also failed to build and establish relationships between characters; ESPECIALLY between the protagonist and the love interest. She simply made them automatically make them love each other when it was convenient.
I would rate lower if possible.
Describing the book in 5 words: Romanticized fairy rape and abuse
