I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would. Michael is probably the strongest male lead who isn’t a Bridgerton in the whole series. I liked that Franchesca is different from the other Bridgertons but at one point it felt like the author had no idea how to create dialogue for her so she just tried to get Michael’s attention without any substance. My only complaint about the love story is that Michael sometimes acted kind of rudely to Franchesca but it was “ok” because he secretly loved her. If I were Franchesca and he was acting rudely and like he wanted to leave my presence, I wouldn’t behold him so highly as a friend let alone a love interest. I’m a friends to lovers fan so I overall enjoyed this one.
