Unwind by Neal Shusterman
Did not finish book.
Trigger warnings:
There are a couple of reasons why Unwind didn't work for me. One - it's extremely early-2000s dystopian (which, of course, that is when the book was published). Two - while the concept of the story is extremely interesting it's not entirely unique. Unwind was published several years after Never Let Me Go which, while of course, it differs, also follows the idea of using people for the sake of organ harvesting. Finally - I just did not feel engaged overall.
I did, however, find elements of Schusterman's way of weaving a story that invites readers to see the way the modern world is evolving - something that I have loved in his more recent Arc of Scythe series.
