In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado

dark fast-paced

4.5

Erratic, disconnected, reflective, academic, this memoir is everything a biography usually isn't. Although there is some form of chronology, the book jumps eagerly all over the place, littered with different writing styles from narrative to biographical to academic. This is something to read when what you want to read is different. An intriguing insight into the author's experience with psychological abuse in a lesbian relationship and unput-downable.
