Soooo I gave Divine Rivals a 3-star rating as it was an okay book, but I feel that the execution could have been better. The book had a great premise, but unfortunately, the plotlines about the existence of Gods and magic were not fully developed π. It was only briefly mentioned in the beginning and then it was never really brought up again?? Especially the magic aspect of the story. There was no rhyme or reason whatsoever. It just felt like there was too much going on, but also, nothing was really happening, if that even makes sense LOL.
Also, this book is marketed as an enemies-to-lovers, which I disagree with. In my opinion, they were hardly even rivals π. But donβt get me wrong I still love Roman Conceited Kitt and Iris Winnow hehe.
Other than that, it was a pretty decent book and I did like Rebecca Ross's writing. I also loved the anonymous pen pal situation (even though it really wasn't anonymous since Kitt knew it was Iris right off the bat).
However, would I recommend this book? Mmm probably not, sue me. It just could have been sooo much better, the potential. *sighh*
