This wasn’t what I expected, though I admit I didn’t really read anything about it beforehand besides its cover. I thought this would be a really deep dive into the data behind a few key topics, but it’s actually a general parenting book, with a broad look at data, when there is data. I also found it to be wishy-washy on answers to the questions it looks at, but that’s probably because statistics itself does not lend it to 100% rock hard answers anyway.

This book will be helpful for people, especially new parents before their first baby is born, since a good portion of this book is about newborns. For me, with my 7 month old, it did make me feel better about some decisions we had already made, and shed a bit of light on some upcoming decisions, but definitely didn’t change my life or anything.
