Finn by Ashley James

I read this book, but I also listened to the audiobook. This was such a fast and fun read! The story flowed so well, and I couldn't put it down. The tropes were spot on, and the chemistry between Finn and Ash was just amazing. Their dynamic kept me hooked the whole time. On the other hand, Violet was unbearable—selfish and completely self-centered. I honestly couldn't stand her.

Finn is the ultimate grumpy cowboy with a heart of gold, completely devoted to his son, Tucker. Being a dad comes first, but Ash turns his world upside down. He pushes Finn’s buttons in the best way, and their flirty banter quickly turns into something more. Ash didn’t expect to end up back in Wolf Creek, but taking the nanny job for Finn’s son is an opportunity he can’t pass up. Finn isn’t exactly welcoming at first, but the more time they spend together, the clearer it becomes—those glares aren’t just annoyance, but something much deeper.

The bi-awakening in this book was so well done. Finn goes from being completely unaware of his attraction to Ash to fully embracing it, and it was written with so much care and emotion. The way they slowly open up to each other, build trust, and form such a deep connection made their romance feel natural and heartfelt.

The spice? Yeah, that was next-level. The tension between them was thick from the start, and when things finally exploded, it was worth every second of buildup. That being said, the whole "daddy" thing didn’t really work for me. With Finn already being a dad to a four-year-old, it felt a bit off, and I don’t think there was a big enough age gap for it to fit.

Tucker was absolutely adorable, and the bond he forms with Ash melted my heart. One of the sweetest moments was when he asked Ash if he could be his mommy—just pure, heartwarming perfection. Seeing Finn slowly open up, not just to Ash but also to the idea of love again, made this story even better. He might be a broody cowboy, but once he starts falling, he falls hard.

The drama was there but never too heavy. Just when I thought things were about to spiral, the situation smoothed over quickly. It kept the book feeling light and easy to read, though it did make some conflicts feel less impactful. But honestly, with how good Finn and Ash were together, I didn’t really mind.

As for the audiobook, Gregory Salinas and Alex Kydd absolutely nailed it. Their performances brought Finn and Ash to life in the best way. Gregory captured Finn’s grumpy, reluctant soft side so well, and Alex made Ash’s playful energy jump off the page. Their chemistry was just as strong in audio as it was in the book, making it an even better experience.

Overall, Finn was a quick, entertaining read with a great romance, fun banter, and a touch of steam. The chemistry was off the charts, and the bi-awakening was beautifully written. I’m excited to see what’s next in The Moore Men series—Hollis and Gentry’s stories can’t come soon enough!
