I didn’t expect the ending to be left on an implication , and I’m not sure if I liked it or not. On one hand, I usually enjoy an open ending so I can imagine multiple resolutions. And I do like that here; it feels intentional, not like a cop out. But on the other hand, there were so many weird things (the teeth?! Rosa crying on the side of the road? The flamingos and the flamingo-pink vomit?) that I’d love to know more of the author’s imagination and creativity about. What does he think was happening? How does it all connect in the creator’s mind?
