It’s so hard to write a book where every other character is way more interesting than your main character. And yet…

August was so meh. Like incredibly so. And the mystery around Jane got boring 30% of the way in and she just felt like an empty vessel. 

AND Jane being hate crimed and then August asking her if she’s a) called the feds, and b) telling her that most people aren’t racist/homophobic anymore. very very white girl tone deaf. We need to remember that we need to be INTERSECTIONAL. The white queer experience is not the QBIPOC experience and it never will be.
