The friendships, the magic realism - alien abduction for sure because this was a wild ride!
I know friends riding around on bikes in a small town is nothing new.
I know alien stories and freak occurrences are nothing new.
I know coming to terms with past trauma while coming of age is nothing new.
But still Emily Henry wrote a masterpiece. I would watch the show, movie, limited series. I'd even watch the ghost Youtube videos The Ordinary posts.
This book was full of contradictions, but only the good kind. Bittersweet. Timeless yet nostalgic. Thrilling yet serene. Hopeful yet inevitable.
Emily Henry's books are always on my To-Read list, but this one was an immediate favorite.
I think when a book heals you right along with its characters, that's the real magic.
