ennun 's review for:
Goethe's Faust
by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I listened to the audiobook for this one, narrated by Jack Wynters and I want to shout that out for how great he was.
My scores would be more accurately put as 4 stars for the 1st book and 3 for the 2nd one. They both have a lot of dull moments and a lot of the times the story drags on and on and on, but that's to be expected for what it actually is: a script of a play.
Personally, I found the 1st book to be the more interesting one, it being the introduction of the characters and the show of their relationships, interests and personalities. The 2nd book was... strange. I wasn't expecting to wake up to a Greek mythology lesson to be honest, so that threw me just a bit off.
The biggest disappointment was the ending. To be completely honest, I would have happily rather watch Faust be dragged to the depths of hell, as is would have been fair. But I mean the story does show how hypocritical god is so maybe it's way more accurate LMFAO
