Review: Book5…no words are what come to mind. Darby is heartbroken in the aftermath of Bishop’s betrayals in book 4. She has begun to question her relationship and everything she thought they were together. Book 5 shows us Bishop’s true colors as well.
Darby has a lot of setbacks in book 5 and she meets Aemon for the first time truly in this book. After being requested to find him by Deimos, Aemon’s father, she then learns she has many new enemies that come out of hiding.
Darby takes on the role as warden in this book while heartedly and we see many old friends return like Shiloh and Mags. She grows a backbone to face off with Bishop and put him in his place for once and she also discusses it with Jay once the hats come off.
This book does not have heat but it does begin to grow Darby and Aemon’s bond. We see a different type of demon infatuation since all he wants is to make sure Darby takes care of herself. After all the heartache Darby suffers from Bishop and her father, it is nice to see someone take care of her or begin to try to.
Rating: 4.5/5, too many new questions but omg AEMON!
