I loved Standard Deviation, so this book was highly anticipated for me and did not disappoint! The novel follows Jane, a second grade teacher in a small town in Michigan, as she moves to town, meets its inhabitants and builds a life there. There is some heartbreak and sad parts, but it's mostly a low-stakes, everyday plot with really fantastic writing.
