Soooo close to perfect. The main characters were great. Both are immediately awful. She seems reckless, immature, and spoiled. He doesn't have a single redeemable quality. Until you start to understand what made them who they are.
They quickly grew on me, and their relationship is incredibly satisfying. It's a fake/arranged marriage under false pretenses, where they're both given different justifications for it by his sister, under the guise of "helping" him, and the relationship growth hits all the right notes. Both have mental health issues stemming from past trauma, and the portrayal is equally authentic, heart-wrenching, and beautiful. This does NOT have a "love fixed my trauma" conclusion, which I appreciated.
There is a problematic depiction of impact play. This is mentioned in the content warning so no stars deducted for that, but the warning is vague and it is an ick of mine, so reader beware. .5 stars WERE deducted bc idk wtf the sister was thinking and how she wasn't ultimately the villain, but I just absolutely hated his sister at the end. Also, some of the wrap-up of the side plots were meh. Overall though, great read. Highly recommend.
