I had a rough week. I was sick and in a lot of pain and therefore I asked in a Reversed Harem group for recommendations. When I mentioned that I was totally into royals and fantasy, this was the book that was named the most and luckily for me, Amazon had a one day delivery. So yesterday it arrived at my doorstep and today I could start reading right away.

And this was indeed exactly the kind of book I wanted and had asked for. It was an easy and quick read with characters that were not that layered or complicated, but were just interesting enough to keep my attention and to make me like them and warm up to them. The three princes are all very different and I guess that's exactly the power of this book and what will make this harem in the end (I totally trust the author that we will get it) work.

There are a couple of reveals, some revealed in this book and some certainly still to come, that are not that unpredictable. I personally had the impression that they weren't meant to be unexpected. I like this kind of irony and drama, where we as a reader know something, but characters don't piece it together because to them it seems very unlikely.

What this book however did absolutely perfectly was creating a certain kind of longing in me, the reader. Every time something steamy was about to happen, the scene was interrupted, but it was that waiting and waiting and waiting and eventually being rewarded (at least partly) in the end that really made this work for me.

O, and there was also a nice plot keeping my attention. There was danger, there was mystery, there was politics, intrigue and magic. I can't wait to see how everything will play out in the upcoming two books.

So, halfway reading the book I already ordered the next one and I can't wait for it to arrive!
