The Moviegoer by Walker Percy

3.0

This is a low 3. Like a 5/10. I think this novel had a lot of potential, and it lights on phenomenal themes such as despair and malaise — I’d even say it has a hint of nihilism (a sort of Christian one too, with the Kierkegaard epigram). But Jack’s character was so hard to get into. I dreaded reading parts when Kate wasn’t there. I was bored. Maybe that’s the point and I just didn’t get it. But oh well, you can’t love every read
