Fractured Freedom

Book was good enough. I liked the heroine and found her interesting - she was well balanced between being type-a perfectionist who realises that she can’t ace life and is now struggling to find herself. Unfortunately I liked the concept of the character more than the execution - I was missing more flavour and like-ability with this character. Also I found her struggle with her miscarriage to be not that impactful for how hyped up the big secret was, but I did like the author’s work with depression and mental health and wish she had just leaned more into that without the unnecessary miscarriage.
My real issue with the book though was the leading man. Don’t get me wrong - I love a possessive, hint of toxic romance, but he honestly was just pissing me off with how controlling he was. It didn’t help that the heroine didn’t have a lot of fight/push-back in her either (which made sense for her goody two shoe character so I don’t begrudge the author that), but overall wasn’t my cup of tea.
Spicy scenes were pretty good though, so I may be back to read about the other twin.
