to make monsters out of girls by Amanda Lovelace

4.0

i've been reading tons of poetry so i won't have a single unique thought in my head to fight off the depression, so this was a breeze to finish!

i wasn't initially a huge lovelace fan, but this collection was raw and real, somewhat unsettling in a way because it was so relatable. this collection narrates a toxic romantic relationship well enough, and has topics of gaslighting and cheating, among others. but by the end, it had switched to a more empowering voice, that was a little less monster, and more hopeful. i could relate to that part too. overall, this was a good one.
