We are profoundly influenced by the rhythms of the world around us.

A big part of this book is that gif of Gloria from Modern Family screaming 'I KNEEEEEEW IIIIITTTTT' because I was right on the money for some of this book. It was slow going at first (for me at least) but it was interesting enough to keep me going and picked up enough by the end that I devoured like most of it in the span of a few days.

Did enjoy the back and forth to different time periods to follow along the story of so many generations of women in this family. And the author's connection to Salem was also something that I found so cool. I also read this book during a time that I moved from New England to another state so while this wasn't my most favorite book of all time, I think I'm going to keep it.

LISTEN I KNEW CHILTON WAS NOT RIGHT THE MOMENT I MET HIM I DID NOT LIKE THAT MAN ONE BIT

I felt that more needed to be talked about with the dog, because it seems that they were ALWAYS there, perhaps in the second book
