I am absolutely LOVING this series by Jewel E. Ann. The sheltered daughters of a small town preacher, the 80’s setting, the forbiddeness, the cheekiness, the FMC’s having the MMC’s wrapped around their finger, all the banter. Guys, I’m having a great time!

After reading a little bit about Eve in Sarah’s book, Sunday Morning, I knew I was going to love her. She was mischievous and I knew she was going to be an absolute firecracker. Jewel did not disappoint. Eve had me cracking up with her wit and sassiness. Kyle is the ultimate MMC. The way he cares for Eve and steals his kisses before she goes home to be mad at him? I swoon. And their chemistry?? SO good. The build up was done very well and Jewel had me kicking my feet and smiling ear to ear throughout!

There’s a few heavier topics discussed in this book and I feel Jewel navigated them very well. Eve’s parents kind of suck, but learning about their own past troubles put some things into perspective. And Eve’s plot twist toward the end? I did not see that coming. My heart broke for her and Kyle. I don’t blame Kyle at all for not noticing the signs. Ugh, he loves her so damn much.

Ok, I can’t wrap up this review without shouting out Kyle’s son Josh. Was a freaking cutie! I loved his character and his relationship with Kyle and Eve. I appreciate when the child is actually shown in a single parent trope and interacts with the characters. It’s important to actually see the character as a parent. It’s the whole point of the dang trope! Jewel has written a couple books with a single parent and she has killed it every time. If you’re looking for another, Look The Part is one of my favs!
