Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis by J.D. Vance
Hmmmm.
I don't know what I really expected going into this book. I just realized who this was only a few weeks ago so I've heard some of what he has to say and knowing about his political goals I wanted some more insight into who this man is and why he is this way.
Overall I don't think this book is very profound, but I do admit it is at least slightly better than I expected. I feel like there are other memoirs of individuals with similar upbringings and economic situations that are written a little more compassionately and with a bit more nuance.
