I found this less enjoyable than his other works, but that’s probably because I’m not a big fan of short stories or novellas. Eve as a recurring character makes it more palatable. I like continuity and seeing what happens in between the pages. In that sense, it was great, but also in that sense, she felt like a different person than in Rules of Civility, and it was really unclear how she got to where she was in this book.
Graphic: Adult/minor relationship, Gun violence, Infidelity, Sexism, Car accident, Abandonment, Alcohol, Sexual harassment
