I like survival novels and this one tells a pretty straight-up action/adventure/survival story. I kept waiting for some LOST-ish twists to explain the improbability of half the plane's passengers surviving the crash, but that didn't come. Instead, the novel just describes all the dangers the kids face in the jungle while trying to save themselves. There's enough action to keep the plot moving along. I did want the characters to be fleshed out more - I sometimes had trouble remembering which person was which since, on the whole, their personalities weren't distinguishable enough. Overall, though, this one kept me entertained. I didn't absolutely love it, but I liked it well enough.
