Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard

3.0

Blade Breaker was a bit slower than I'd like, but I still had quite a bit of fun reading it! There was a lot of tension throughout the chapters as the situation the characters found themselves in grew more and more dangerous. The shifts in perspective continued to be really smooth and well done and I enjoyed how they came together.

I wouldn't say a lot happened in terms of plot? There seemed to be quite a lot of characters just moving from one place to the next with very little consequence or achievements. Like many moving pieces working as a way to set up some bigger conflict--which were the vibes I got in the first book, so I expected way more development here since this book wasn't a stepping stone into a new world/series.

The ending was pretty intriguing, though! There was some action and the stakes definitely went a bit higher than I expected. I'm still not sure how the rest of the series is going to progress considering where this book left things off, but I'm pretty curious and eager to continue reading it.
