The Engineer's Wife
by Tracey Enerson Wood
This historical fiction book meets some of my criteria for good historical fiction: an interesting story about a subject that I wasn’t familiar with including some strong characters, especially female ones.
There’s a big HOWEVER: because the author fictionalized a story between two characters (one of whom is a well-known historical figure) that she admitted in the acknowledgements was not true. I couldn’t get past that. To go into more detail would be to give away some spoilers, so I won’t but you’ve been warned. Might want to check out the notes at the end first.
