Never Never: Part Two by Colleen Hoover, Tarryn Fisher
5.0

What a fascinating tale. Two teenagers who are desperately trying to find the answers but with a timekeeper who keeps resetting the clock, it seems near impossible. This time, in the second part, everything has changed. At the end of book one, Silas was alone. Where is Charlie?

Silas was smarter this time around. He had some of the tools he needed to understand a lot quicker. This meant that he could look for Charlie straight away. I loved being in his mind and figuring out his memory as he is. He’s incredibly easy to enjoy as his words flow smoothly, and he doesn’t ever give up. Charlie…well, I can’t mention much about her as it’d give things away, but she’s in a much different place than Silas, with no tools at all. She’s alone, she’s confused, and she’s scared. But she’s still incredibly resilient and brave. She’s a take-things-into-my-own hands kind of woman, and I loved that about her. She wasn’t willing to give in–nope, not one bit. She was willing to fight tooth and nail to get back to where she needed…if only she knew where that was.

Again, the writing is spectacular. You have both POVs, which are presumably still written separately and by the same author as last time, but it flows together so well. You can hear the voice of each character ringing through loud and clear, and you were able to delve into them rather quickly. I thought I’d have to do a quick re-read of Part One before getting into Part Two, but I honestly didn’t have to. Once you read the first page, it’s almost as if you are just like the characters in that way–you’re trying to remember, too. And it works so well to have that moment of feeling like them. Things click into place, and you’re reading faster than you ever have to get answers. Each part of the story has so much more at stake than the prior. Things are happening, road blocks are occurring, and you just want answers too. But it is such a good, twisted tale. I absolutely loved it, and I am desperate for more.
