4.5 stars!
I actually loved this book. While the first few chapters had me a little unsure of how the trajectory of the book would go, it was GREAT! I loved Harlow and Conor. It picked up speed and got pretty dang good about 4 chapters in. I could not put it down.
Harlow is a senior at college. You get a little bit of background info about her but her parents died in a drunk driving accident so she was adopted or taken in by her moms best friend. Ironically enough, she now gets to live with her best friend, Landon. She is taken in by Landon’s family, her mom’s best friend and husband, helping her navigate her life through college and being a big supporter of her.
Conor is the captain of the hockey team, raised by a single mom, and loathes Harlow. While many think it’s bc she dated a guy on the hockey team and now all his teammates adore her, there’s another reason why. Harlow’s family who took her in, that’s Conor’s dad and step mom. Quite a sticky web.
I loved the interactions between the main characters. I loved how they bantered and just their personalities. It made for such a great story. To see how they go from hating each other to tolerating to liking to loving is perfect and done flawlessly. CW Farnsworth is becoming one of my new favorite authors. She literally engrosses you and makes you so consumed with her stories you can’t stop until you finish.
This was the perfect mix of enemies to lovers, hockey, college issues, sprinkled in with some family drama. I immediately started the second book which has these characters but the focus is one of Conor’s roommates/teammates.
