The 5th Horseman
by Maxine Paetro, James Patterson
This book was distressing. The technically "b plot" surrounding medical malpractice was really unnerving and made me feel very anxious and unsafe. I really struggled to get through some of the trial where victim's family members explain what happened.
What for me was the big issue was how disjointed the two plots were. I expected them to come together, but after Lindsey nailed the perps for the hooker murders the book shifted entirely to the second plot and never looked back. By the end, I forgot that we had solved a whole other set of murders in the same book.
Also, not enough Claire.
