Hooooooooo this book
The dramatic nature of the children, the plot twist at 80% + in that finally made it intriguing to read on. The underwhelming ending. It was something. I didn’t like how it was told as a story of a story like Mrs Dean talking to Mr Lockwood. As it got to present day it was hard to tell who’s POV it was from, I just assumed Mrs Dean for most of it, but then Mr Lockwood when Mrs Dean was mentioned. A ton of words to look up, generally not too hard to read. Life was not exciting back then, and a lot of abuse overall. Heathcliff was such a screwy character with an unpredictable personality and like zero character growth descending into madness. Happy to say I’ve read a classic, but it will probably be my last if I’m reading for enjoyment lol. Excited to hear everyone’s thoughts!
