This was without a shadow of a doubt the best book in this series yet. This series is very much classic epic Fantasy to the likes of a Wheel of Time but with a much faster pace which is totally appreciated.

I feel like the pacing might be the strongest aspect of the book. I mean the book is action-packed on one hand but also has plenty slowler dialogue heavy chapters. The author switches pace with his multiple POVs (and there is quite a lot of them) in somewhat of a pattern, like slow-fast-slow-fast and so on. Makes it almost impossible for any kind of boredom to occur and very hard to put the book down.

At this point I also really like all the characters / POVs. I think it's a common feeling in multi POV books where you start a chapter, see the headline and think "no, why do I have to read about this character now? Take me back!" This feeling has been completely erased from this series at this point and I just liked checking in with all of them. All the storylines went to interesting places and I think it also helps that this book had a lot strong humorous moments.

The prose is pretty simple but that is not something I really care about.

In summary: This book is great. It shines with tense action, brings some high stakes and deep emotion and even can make you laugh out loud on multiple occasions. It is epic Fantasy done right.
