some things that stood out to me:
- realistic/relatable portrayal of the first generation immigrant experience
- references chinese culture effortlessly and captures the feeling of tradition and cultural norms(?) so naturally
- feels so good. like RELATABLE
- writing style is easy to follow but so descriptive and illustrative
i really really liked it because omg it’s so,,,, asian mother daughter relationships are so,,,,,, no words it’s just so good . i am thé target audience and it gave what it was suppsoed to give . did not cry at the ending,, but i did experience deep emotional feelings throughout the reading of the whole book . it’s so good d
