Questo libro mi ha catturato fin dall’inizio, grazie a una storia credibile e a personaggi ben caratterizzati, a cui è impossibile non affezionarsi. L’autrice riesce a trasmettere emozioni forti: in più di un passaggio mi sono commossa.
Detto questo, va detto che Il giardino delle buone intenzioni non è un romanzo ricco di colpi di scena o azione. È piuttosto una lettura “coccola”, che punta più sull’intimità e sull’empatia che sulla suspense. Proprio per questo può non piacere a chi cerca un ritmo più serrato.
Ho anche apprezzato la piccola comunità che rimarrà per sempre nel mio cuore.
La scrittura, però, resta uno dei punti di forza: scorrevole, piacevole, con capitoli che volano via. Ho apprezzato molto anche l’alternanza tra passato e presente, che arricchisce la trama e le dà una dimensione più ampia.

That said, The Garden of Good Intentions is not a novel full of twists or action. It’s more of a “comfort read,” one that leans on intimacy and empathy rather than suspense. For this reason, it might not appeal to readers looking for a faster pace.
I also loved the small community portrayed in the story, which will stay in my heart forever.
The writing remains one of the book’s strongest points: smooth, enjoyable, with chapters that fly by. I especially appreciated the alternation between past and present, which adds depth and gives the story a wider dimension.
